Eola, Texas, is a small, unincorporated community located in northwestern Concho County. The city’s population was 218 in 1990. Originally named Jordan, Eola changed its name in 1902.
Before gaining its own post office, Eola was called Jordan. The name was derived from a small creek located nearby. In the early 1900s, a post office was opened in the town, and its first store was opened in 1902. The population reached 25 in 1914. In that same year, the town’s first school was built.
