Each of these areas is often referred to by a nickname or colloquial name which reflects their unique characteristics. Knickerbocker is one such area which is home to a variety of locally recognized neighborhoods including Pemberton Hill, Bent Creek, Alta Vista, Nueva Estacija and La Gran Manzana. What makes Knickerbocker unique?

The community is situated on the north side of Lake Buchanan and is bordered on the west by the city of Cedar Park. Lake Buchanan and the surrounding area is a natural draw for outdoor enthusiasts because of its proximity to several state parks, golf courses, and wildlife preserves.
